Welcome to my Graduation with Leadership Distinction E Portfolio!
I’m Caroline, a Nursing student at The University of South Carolina, and my GLD pathway is Professional and Civic Engagement.
This portfolio will take you through my experiences during my four years at USC, along with the connections, growth, and insight that connects them all!
My engagement outside the classroom includes my medical mission trips to Nicaragua and Costa Rica, my current job as a Certified Group Fitness Instructor, my Nursing Externship with Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA, and my internships in Barcelona, Spain. My experiences within the classroom include nursing courses such as Psychiatric Nursing, Community and Population Health, and other university classes such as U101.
You will get to hear about some of my adventures and personal challenges such as skydiving and scuba diving, as well as more about my role as a Certified Group Fitness Instructor!

Before diving into my key insights, here’s a little bit more about me: my chosen career path is centered on my love for health, mental and physical.
I chose Nursing because it is the only profession that truly lives out all my core values on a daily basis; integrity, compassion, and intentionality. Throughout college, I have been so blessed with opportunities to pursue my passions along the way!
Some themes you will see pop up a lot in my writings:
*Health promotion, education, and bringing humility into practice as a healthcare professional
*Taking up personal challenges to push yourself, while expanding your network
*Finding inspiration in everyone and making the most out of what you’re given
*Promoting fitness and successful lifestyle changes
